We Exist to Connect People to Jesus and Each Other

Saint Angela Merici was a 15th and 16th-century Italian religious educator who founded the Company of Saint Ursula, which became the first teaching order of women in the Catholic Church. Her work was revolutionary because it allowed women to dedicate their lives to God through teaching and service while remaining in the world, rather than living cloistered lives in convents. She is the patron saint of disabled people, those grieving the loss of parents, and against sickness.

Origin: The parish began in 1951 as a mission to Catholics in Brea, under the patronage of St. Mary’s Parish in Fullerton. It officially became its own parish in 1962 under the name of St. Angela Merici.

Parish School: The St. Angela Merici Parish School was founded in 1964 and was staffed by the Poor Clare Sisters from Ireland. It has a Christ-centered environment and follows the common core standards.

Sacraments/Celebrations: The parish celebrates the seven Sacraments, including Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Marriage. We also offer various Liturgical Services, such as Funeral/Memorial Masses and Quinceañeras.

Community Ministries: The parish offers various ministries and groups, including a men’s fellowship, youth ministries, and an organization called “Active Christians Today” (A.C.T.), which operates a food pantry and sometimes assists with utility bills.
