Jesus taught us how to pray to His Father saying: ….”forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” and……. “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing.”
Gandhi taught …“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
Mark Twain said…”Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.”
We men frequently tend to confuse forgiveness with weakness. Some men have never learned the meaning and significance of forgiveness in their lives. Many men have had little or no role modeling in asking for forgiveness, nor do they know how to be more forgiving in their relationships. Come to learn and to explore models of healthy forgiveness and reconciliation in your relationships with your significant others, with your children, and with our God.
Come to be present: In prayer, meditation, listening, ritual, and small group sharing.
Bring with you: a father, mature son, male friend, chair, sun protection, and a drum.
