Serving with Dignity: The Heart of Bread of Angels

In a world that often moves too fast, there are corners of our community dedicated to slowing down and seeing the person in front of us. For over 30 years, the Bread of Angels ministry has been doing exactly that—providing more than just a meal, but an environment where every guest is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Meeting New Challenges with Compassion

The mission of Bread of Angels is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the moment. Recently, the ministry recognized that many of their regular guests were finding it difficult to travel to their physical locations.

In response, they have launched a new grocery shopping service. This initiative ensures that those impacted by current events still have access to the food they need, bringing the spirit of the ministry directly to their doorsteps.

A Place for Everyone to Serve

Whether you have an hour to spare or an entire morning, there is a place for you here. Bread of Angels operates every Saturday of the year from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, serving both breakfast and lunch.

If you are looking to do “Good Works,” consider lending a hand in one of these areas:

  • The Kitchen: Help prepare the meals that fuel the day.
  • Guest Interaction: Build community by simply talking and listening to those who visit.
  • Behind the Scenes: Support the mission through laundry, shopping, or specialized skills.

Volunteer shifts are flexible, ranging from 1 to 5 hours, making it easy to fit service into a busy schedule.

How You Can Help

As the ministry expands its reach through the new shopping program, the need for community support has grown. You can make a difference in three key ways:

  1. Prayers: Keep the guests and the volunteers in your thoughts.
  2. Financial Support: Donations help sustain and grow these vital programs.
  3. Your Time: Share your unique skills with those who need them most.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me.” — Matthew 25:35
