St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Brea is hosting a special Divine Mercy Sunday Celebration, and it promises to be an evening filled with reflection, prayer, and unique opportunities for veneration. Whether you are a longtime devotee of the Divine Mercy or simply curious about this beautiful tradition, this bilingual event welcomes everyone.
Event Schedule & Highlights
The evening is thoughtfully structured to lead attendees through a journey of prayer and understanding:
- 06:30 PM: Welcome remarks by Estrella Mijares.
- 06:40 PM: An exploration of “The Promises Attached to Divine Mercy Sunday” by Angel Mijares. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the spiritual significance and the graces associated with this feast day.
- 06:55 PM: A Bilingual Divine Mercy Holy Hour Adoration led by Deacon Cruz Pleitez. This hour of quiet prayer and adoration is the heart of the celebration.
- 07:55 PM: The evening concludes with the rare and moving opportunity for the Veneration of a First Class Relic of St. Faustina, the visionary who spread the message of Divine Mercy to the world.

Looking Ahead: Growth and Pilgrimages
The celebration on April 11th is just the beginning. For those looking to dive deeper into their faith throughout 2026, the church also announced a Divine Mercy Formation Series.
Starting June 27, 2026, these sessions will be held every 4th Saturday of the month (9 AM – 12 PM) in the Noah Room. If you plan to attend the series, remember to bring your Bible, Catechism, the Diary of St. Faustina, and a formation manual (available for $8.00).
For the more adventurous souls, the Divine Mercy Evangelization Movement Foundation is also coordinating several 2026 Pilgrimages, including trips to:
- Turkey & Greece (October)
- The Holy Land & Jordan (November)
- Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico (December)
