It’s been an action-packed season for the St. Angela Merici (SAM) Parish School community! From spiritual renewals to academic triumphs, our students have been busy embodying our mission to achieve excellence through their unique gifts and talents.
Here is a look at the latest highlights from campus:
Unburying the Alleluia: A Joyful Easter Return
Coming back from Spring Break is always an adjustment, but our SAM students started the new term with a beautiful reminder of hope. The entire school gathered for a special Easter Prayer Service to celebrate the resurrection.
A particularly moving moment of the service was the “Unburying of the Alleluia.” Having “buried” the Alleluia banner during the solemn season of Lent, students joyfully brought it back out to symbolize renewed joy. To keep the energy high, the students:
- Learned the song “Lord I Lift Your Name on High.”
- Practiced a special dance to accompany the music.
- Prepared to share this performance at upcoming school Masses.
SAM Cougars Win Big at the Diocesan Math Competition
Our 7th and 8th graders recently proved that they are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to numbers! Competing in the Diocesan Math Competition, our students faced three intense rounds:
- Paired Knockout Competition
- Individual Online Test
- Group Collaboration Team Round
We are incredibly proud to announce that the SAM Cougars collaboration team took home a standout victory, winning the Collaboration Team round! This win highlights not just their individual math skills, but their ability to work together as a cohesive unit. A huge congratulations to all our participants for representing SAM with such pride and brilliance.
