Life at a parish is often a beautiful balancing act between community celebration and silent prayer. This coming week, St. Angela’s finds itself at that exact intersection.
Due to the excitement and preparations for the Parish School Summerfest Event, there is a slight change of plans for our upcoming Monthly Day of Adoration. While the venue has shifted, the invitation remains as powerful as ever.
The Details
If you are planning to spend time in reflection this weekend, please take note of the location change:
- Location: Moved from the Church to the Chapel.
- Start Time: Friday, May 29, immediately following the 8 AM Mass.
- End Time: Continuing through the night until just before the 8 AM Mass on Saturday.
Why We Rest in Adoration
While the Summerfest will bring music, laughter, and the joy of our school community to the grounds, the Chapel will serve as a sanctuary of stillness. It is a reminder that even amidst the “busy-ness” of parish life, the heart of our faith remains the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
As the notice beautifully reminds us through the words of St. Therese of Lisieux:
“Do you realize that Jesus is there in the Blessed Sacrament expressly for you, for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart!”
Finding Your Hour
Whether you are a regular adorer or someone who hasn’t stepped into the quiet for a while, this relocation offers a unique, intimate setting in the Chapel. In a world that rarely stops moving, taking an hour to simply “be” in the presence of that desire St. Therese speaks of can be a radical act of peace.
We look forward to seeing you in the Chapel this Friday. Come for the quiet, stay for the grace, and then join us in celebrating our community at the Summerfest!
Will you be joining us for an hour of prayer this Friday?
